This strap is heavier, wider and has thicker leather than most mandolin straps you see, making it suitable for heavy duty use as well as for mandolas, bouzoukis and similar instruments that use a headstock loop. But it may actually be too thick or too wide to fit under the strings on the headstock of your mandolin or other instrument. It is best to check and measure before purchasing.
